Welcome Spring Picnic

Since Kasmir was little we had a unofficially official cake picnic at our balcony when the warmer weather and sun comes at the spring time. I made cheesecake and its like welcoming party at the sun. This year i made sun cheesecake with my own recipe, and vegetable pie. It was neather too greasy or too salty. The bottom was made of oat-rye and the fillings were vegetables. I totally falling in love at the pie! And that pie base especially!

We have had other small parties together with Kasmir. For example i bought once chinese style lamp at the flea market and i think thats reason to bake waffles. And end of the august when its "Venetsialaiset" at 2015, our balcony was full of candles and i had made homemade ice cream for us.

Autumn 2016.

I found this lovely Chinese style lamp at the Flea market for 3€ price at the autumn 2016. Same time i bought new waffle iron and i made dozens of waffles for us. If i remembered correctly we had mint chocolate foam because neither of us like whipped cream.

This picture is taken at august 2015, i had made own homemade ice cream. The picture below is from autumn 2017, Kasmir had made his first apple pies with my help.

But today we had our sun picnic again. I made sunny cheesecake with my own recipe. This time we were not just Kasmir and me, =) Niki had his own picnic smoothie from bananas and apples and oat milk.

This picture above is from our first sun picnic at spring 2016. On that day we had been at the childrens art club at morning and then we had together time at the balcony with cheesecake and chocolate oat milk. Mummy drinks coffee. Cheesecake was decorated with little orange.

At May 2017, we packed our leopard bags with juice and watermelon and went to the park. Kasmir also play and climbed there. It was our summer picnic at spring 2017.

May 2018.

At the may 2018 we had food and Moomin bubble drink on our new  homes terrace. The weather was nice. We had our first homewarming party at that weekend and we had own parties together when was sunday. That whole weekend were warm and sunny.

Sunny Cheesecake

Bottom:

300g oat biscuits
50g margarine

Filling:

5 dl whipped cream
200g passion fruit quark
200g lemon quark
200g Mango quark
200g Orange cream cheese
mandarine oranges
6 gelatine

sugar , vanilla sugar

Glaze:

4 can of baby food mango flavour
3 gelatine

Decorating:

Eatable flowers

Melt butter. Crush the biscuits and add the melted butter. Pour butter- biscuit mix on the cake tin and the put it in the fridge while making the filling. Whisk the cream into a loose foam and add the quarks and a cream cheese and stir until smooth. Finally, add the mandarine oranges, (save the canned juice) and whisk them so that they crush evenly into the mixture. Add sugars as you like.

Sugar is not neccessary.. Its good enough without any added sugars.

Soak the gelatin leaves in ice-cold water for about 5 minutes. Heat the juice left over from the mandarin slices to boil in the microwave. Squeeze the gelatin into useless water and mix it with the mandarin juice. Pour a thin strip into the filling and mix until smooth. Pour into a pan and set evenly. Put the cake in the refrigerator, preferably overnight. Make the mango glaze. Add gelatin in cold water and bring to a boil a drop of juice into which you melt the gelatin. Squeeze it before you put it on the juice.. Pour mango baby foods in the dish,  add gelatine, mix it, and pour over the coagulated cake. Put in the refrigerator  for at least a couple of hours. Decorate with flowers. =)

Vegetable pie

Bottom:

Ready oat- rye pie base

Filling:

1 leek
1 red paprika
200g light sour cream
2 egg
Parsley
Basilica
Chili
Black pepper

Put the melted pie on the bottom of the pie tin. Bake the base at 175 degrees for about 7 minutes. Chop the leek, paprika and mix with the eggs as well as the sour cream and flavour with spices. Pour the filling over the pie base and bake at 175 degrees for 45 minutes, or until the pie is cooked through.

We put blanket on the terrace and a vegetable pie was eaten there. After the pie, I fetched us pieces of sun cheesecake from the fridge.

Personally, I like it when there are big pieces in the pie! Big pieces of pepper, big pieces of leek, big pieces of all! So I always chop them into good-sized bites.

Vegetarian pie <3

Niki’s smoothies could have been put in some better container or at least cover it.. But i didn`t thougt that far. Niksu would pour half a cup of banana drink on top of the pie: D But luckily the pie was saved so that there was still food left, and we already had eat it many pieces before the smoothie fell over the pie.

Again, one spring arrived, hopefully comes a warm summer 2020. đź’›đź§ˇđź’š

MayDay 2020!

May Day was celebrated this weekend. We were on a drive with Kasmir on Thursday. Somehow the really lovely weather now happened to May Day, although it usually rains sleet and is so icy cold. Last May Day 2019, it was quite shockingly cold. I remember when I went to the store with my baby to pick up potato salad supplies so I even regretted going outside for some snow because it was almost snowing and it was so unconsciously cold.

On May Day 2014 I had homewarming party at our current new home. Kasmir was then at my mother over night.. He wouldn't have gotten anything out of the May Day cravings yet. On May Day 2015, I made an rainbow cake.  The rainbow  looked tense as the piece was cut from the cake and there were multicolored layers of caramel-colored inside. I blew the floor into our apartment full of balloons and Kasmir had a new red May Day fan and a black cat costume made by her aunt as a gift. :) 2016 we had masks and was eaten on our lovely balcony with chips, food and store-bought sima. I also  celebrate May Day myself.

MayDay 2015.
On May Day 2015, because of the oven, the temperature in our home gets quite high so I opened the glasses on the balcony and the windows of the apartment. I wondered if it would be cold for the little one when, however, the wind was commendably windy, and it wasn't a particularly warm day. So that’s why I put on the head on that hat inside of house that time: D

RainbowCake at MayDay 2015.

Niki was almost 1 month old last year, when we had sausages and homemade potato salad at may day 2019. Kasmir had new Spiderman- costume. We had also mint chocolate cheesecake, and we ate it from glasses. And not because I intentionally made it in the glass but because the cake failed and not only stayed in the pile but was still edible so I put it in the glasses. It was just as good as the mint chocolate stuff always, although it didn't work out as it should: D

Niki and Kasmir were this year police and a robber. I baked donuts and we blown balloons. Kasmir had boiled sausages and potato salad. This year I just bought the salad from the store and it wasn't even the right one, it was the mushroom salad, because all the potato salads had been completely cleaned out of stores and there wasn't a single box left. I didn’t bother then to go specifically to look for it in some store that was still open.  We deviated a little from the tradition. And it doesn't matter. :D But I remember boiled sausages and potato salad tradition from my own childhood, so it must be a thing many years ago. I always remember that those sausages taste really good when floated in a potato salad, even though I otherwise hate sausages  as a child.

MayDay 2020. My little police and robber.

Homemade sima.

I ate mayday doughnuts very collected after all. I reduced the candy eating, and now its time to left all chocolate and white sugar things out of my life for a while. I could ate cake for example at mothersday and my birhtday, but in the future i want to be without white sugar for a longer time.   And there is many other yummies than buns and milk chocolates.
